Electric Scooter Repair

Adult commuter and performance electric scooters are one of the most frequent things through the door. Most of what they need is mechanical — tires, brakes, fasteners, and cables — with an electrical layer on top that has to be diagnosed properly rather than guessed at.

Tire and tube work

  • Flat tire repair on pneumatic tires, including punctures and pinch flats
  • Tire changes and replacements, front and rear
  • Tube repair and replacement, plus valve stems, rim tape, and rim strips
  • Tube-to-tubeless conversions when the wheel, tire, and rim profile are actually suited to it — we’ll tell you if yours isn’t a good candidate
  • Wheel, bearing, and hub-motor cable inspection while the wheel is off

Brakes, controls, and hardware

  • Disc brake pads, rotors, calipers, and hydraulic bleeds
  • Drum and mechanical brake adjustment and cable replacement
  • Levers, grips, folding-mechanism hardware, stem play, and fastener checks
  • Deck, fender, and kickstand hardware repair

Batteries: we test and observe charging behavior as part of diagnosis. Internal battery-pack rebuilds and cell-level work are handled case by case — ask us before you haul it in so we can tell you honestly whether it’s something we can take on.

Electric Dirt Bike / E-Moto Service

Electric off-road bikes get ridden like dirt bikes, so they wear like dirt bikes. Tires, brakes, bearings, chains, and suspension all need the same attention — and then there’s the drive system, which needs a different set of tools and a methodical approach.

Mechanical service

Common electric repair jobs

The work that comes up most often on electric scooters and e-motos.

Flat tires & tire changes

The single most common reason an electric ride comes in. Punctures, worn tires, bad valve stems, and tires that were never seated right in the first place.

Tube repair & replacement

New tubes, patched tubes where it makes sense, rim tape, and rim-strip fixes that stop the same flat from happening again next week.

Tubeless conversions

When the wheel and tire are suited to it, going tubeless can cut down on flats. When they aren’t, we’ll say so instead of selling you a conversion that won’t hold.

Brake service

Pads, rotors, hydraulic bleeds, cable and drum adjustment, lever replacement, and sorting out brakes that drag or pull unevenly.

Electrical diagnosis

Tracing no-power, cut-outs, and intermittent faults to the actual cause instead of throwing parts at the symptom.

Connectors & wiring

Repairing chafed, corroded, melted, or vibration-damaged connectors and harness sections, and sealing them back up properly.

Throttles & controls

Throttle testing and replacement, display and switchgear issues, kill switches, and controller troubleshooting.

Charging-system checks

Charger output testing, charge-port repair, and diagnosing machines that charge slowly, intermittently, or not at all.

Maintenance & upgrades

Routine service intervals, fastener checks after hard riding, and installing common upgrade parts when they’re available.

How quoting works on electric machines

An inspection is needed before we can quote. Electric faults in particular can look identical from the outside and come from completely different causes — a $20 connector and a major component failure can produce the same symptom. We don’t give firm repair prices over the phone, because a number given blind is usually wrong.

Call or text with the machine, the symptom, and a photo or short video. We’ll tell you whether it’s something we can look at and what to expect when you bring it in.

Parts availability varies. Electric machines change model to model and year to year, and parts supply is uneven. Some components arrive in days, some take weeks, and a few simply aren’t available.

If a repair depends on a part we can’t reliably source, we’ll tell you up front rather than tearing the machine down and leaving it sitting. Bring your model and year — and any part numbers you have — and it speeds everything up.

Electric repair questions we get a lot

Do you work on electric scooters and e-motos, or just gas machines?

Both. Electric scooters and electric off-road bikes are a regular part of the work here, not an exception we make occasionally. Tire work, brakes, electrical diagnosis, maintenance, and upgrades are all done in the same shop as our gas machines.

Can you fix a flat on my electric scooter?

Yes. Flat repair and tire changes on electric scooters are one of the most common jobs we do. Depending on the wheel and tire, that may mean a tube repair, a new tube, a new tire, or a tubeless conversion if the setup is suited to it.

Should I convert my scooter to tubeless?

Sometimes. It can reduce flats on the right wheel and tire combination, but it isn’t right for every setup, and forcing it on the wrong rim profile causes more problems than it solves. We’ll look at your specific wheel and tell you whether it’s worth doing.

Can you tell me what a repair will cost over the phone?

Not reliably. We need to inspect the machine before quoting, because the same symptom can come from very different causes. We’re happy to talk through what we’re seeing and what the likely paths are once it’s in front of us.

Are you an authorized dealer or warranty center for my brand?

No. Cache Moto is an independent repair shop and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or authorized by any manufacturer or brand. Work performed by an independent shop may affect a manufacturer’s warranty, so check your warranty terms first if the machine is still covered.

Can you get parts for my electric machine?

Often, but availability varies quite a bit by model and year. Send us your make, model, year, and photos, and we’ll check what we can source and how long it’s likely to take before you commit to anything.
